Most know my commute to work is on an airplane. I fly a LOT. More than what seems a reality. About five years ago, after going through two sets of cheap luggage in a year, a fellow road warrior suggested I buy Tumi luggage – as he used it and never had to go through a replacement, just some minor repairs from time to time. I looked into it, and after saving up, bought a carry-on bag. I had spent 1/3 of its cost on the two bags I had bought that year, so it was easy to justify the … Continue reading
You might have seen my tweet last month: “Question: Is Apple Care worth it for my one year old MacBook Pro? I would imagine a MacBook Air is in my future sometime soon. Save the $?” I didn’t get much of a response, but I did have a few moments free while I was in Seattle last month so I thought I’d check it out. The warranty, not Seattle. Seattle was nice, but you know I like my toys. Since I didn’t get the answer I was looking for in twitter, I cruised around the web to find some of … Continue reading
As you might know or can imagine, I do a lot of online presentations for clients. It saves time, money, travel expense – and is nimble. With the onset of relatively inexpensive technology that WORKS, it’s a no brainer. For the last few years, I’ve used a service called DimDim. I loved it, my clients loved it, and the most basic package was free. So, last week, I get this horribly company-centric email from DimDim alerting me that they had been acquired by salesforce.com. Frankly, I found it repulsive. Didn’t they send this to their PR or Marketing Department before … Continue reading
The tree is down. I put Ella Fitzgerald away until next Christmas, and I finally kicked that nasty flu. I’m back at it again with my crazy travel schedule. It’s 2011, and it’s time to build some teams, meet new friends and make 2011 even better for my clients than last year. I wanted to take a second and tell you about my one of my clients and what I consider to be a MUST attend event. Most of you have heard me talk about my buddy Josh Cantwell and his team over at Strategic Real Estate Coach in Cleveland, Ohio. … Continue reading
… but it’s so confusing that isn’t not client centric. Seriously. Check out the link they sent to me and ALL the different WAYS that you can earn points. Way too much for me to remember, pay attention to, and ultimately care about. I consider myself to be somewhat intelligent, but it’s freaking confusing. The old system: Fly 16 times, get a free flight. Pretty freaking easy. In my opinion, Southwest Airlines has made a horrible move. As a frequent traveler who boarded almost 150 airplanes last year, I’ll likely fly them less because their “new” Rapid Rewards is so … Continue reading
