A week ago today, I was honored to speak two sessions at the 2nd Annual Interior Symposium, hosted by PLANET and OFA. Like last year, the event took place at the amazing Longwood Gardens. I’ll get to that in a bit.
The event was an overwhelming success! With increased attendance over last year, over 120 Interior Plantscaping professionals gathered to learn cutting edge topics affecting the industry. I was able to share elements of Customer Service, using examples from Starbucks (where I am writing this blog, ironically) and other well known companies – about both good and bad customer service and the impact that can have on your business. In the afternoon, we spoke generally about Social Media and ending some of the confusion and complexity of where to start in Social Media to make a dramatic impact in your businesses marketing and branding strategies. Other topics were more geared towards technical aspects of the industry, and based on the questions asked. There was also an awesome Q/A session with industry leaders where any and every question could be asked!
Needless to say, it was an awesome event!
The most awesome part of it, to me, was the backdrop that it took place in… I had never been to Longwood Gardens, but as a Landscape Professional for over 20 years, I could more than appreciate the beauty of the gardens, flowers, plants, trees, shrubs, and the architecture of the property and buildings. Although I didn’t have much time, I was able to snap a few photos in-between speakers and I uploaded them to my Flickr site – and the slideshow video is below. If you’re ever in the Philly area and want to spend a day (or two) looking at some of the most amazing gardening you can likely see, check it out – I don’t think you will regret it…
