It’s been a bizarre, uneventful last three days. I have only left the house once, have spoken on the phone only a few times, didn’t read or reply to any emails, haven’t left my bed – because I’ve been nursing myself from being cold, then hot, with 102 degree temperature, and “severe” strep throat. I woke up Sunday morning with a lump in my throat, that by Monday morning caused me to not be able to talk, swallow, or even drink. Honestly, it was horrible. I finally went to the doctor on Monday around lunchtime… Long story short, got a Z-Pack, and feel a LOT better.
So, I finally was able to stay awake tonight, so I decided to watch some TV (believe it or not, I couldn’t watch too much TV because I felt so bad – sounds weird, but true)… I realized that The Office starts this week, and I didn’t watch any of them last season because of being so busy, so I started watching them online. In a scene of the season finale last year, Michael is doing his typical chat at his desk, and I noticed something peculiar behind himself. That’s right, a megaphone.
Now, a megaphone might not be THAT funny to you, but it’s funny as anything to me… and to my buddy Ty.
I’ve known Ty since I was in high school – and he recently bought a megaphone, so he could literally yell at his co-workers, friends, etc. and be funny doing it. Well, he succeeded – it is funny. So funny, in fact, that the megaphone is in the shop being fixed because one of his co-workers broke it (probably because of overuse).
Ty, meet Michael. Michael, meet Ty. You’re different, but both funny in your own way.
Now a follow-up to being sick… I’ve lost 10 pounds. Yep, I know its probably all water weight, and it will go right back on, but I was surprised as anything that I’ve lost 10 pounds in the last four or five days (don’t remember the last time exactly when I got on the scale) – can that continue? Also, I’m going to go to Oklahoma tomorrow night to speak on Thursday morning, which is probably not the best idea since I’ve been sick, but I can’t really miss this event, since weather caused my flight to get cancelled to it last year. So, I go. Reluctantly. Without my megaphone.
